SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

INFORMATION

The Marion Recreation Department is proud to be hosting the 2010 Men’s Senior Softball Popcorn Tournament on September 11 and 12 in Marion Ohio.  This event has a proven track record with the senior teams who enjoy the Marion, Ohio hospitality.  Juan Reco Pickens, Marion Recreation Department Adult Program Coordinator will serve as tournament director and is very excited to have the seniors coming back to Marion and looks forward to a great senior tournament.  A Round Robin format will be played again this year with 3 different divisions.  Any player 49 yrs. is eligible to play in this year's 50+  bracket. (Competitive 50+), (Recreational 50+) and a (60+).   Awards will be presented to the top 2 teams in each bracket.  ASA and Senior Softball bats will be permitted in this tournament.  Tournament officials plan to finish on Sunday and only use Monday as a make-up day for bad weather or overflow teams.  Cost is $175.00 per team.  Tournament fees and registration deadline is Friday, August 27^th.   Limited number of teams will be accepted.

Softball fields are 5 minutes away from hotels.  When you call the hotel, ask to speak with the manager, say you are with the Marion Recreation Department Senior Softball and their rate listed above will apply to your team and guest.
