No metal spikes permitted.  3 home runs then outs for males –

unlimited for females.   Players must  be  18 or over years of age to play. 

INFORMATION LINE:  387-5168 FOR DELAYS, CANCELLATIONS & LOCATION CHANGE. Due to inclement weather,  information line may change throughout the day.  Please check line before leaving for game for current update.  YOUTH CENTER – 383-5245 – RECREATION DEPT. 387-5446 (during business hours) .  No roster change after July 11th for Friday League and July 16th for Wednesday League unless approved by Rec Director.  Players must have participated in 4 games to be eligible to play in the Little World Series.  This rule applies in all Rec Leagues.  It's the coaches responsibility to keep records of games players have participated in.  A team can only use up to 5 players of the same gender to start a game.  Game can be started with 5M & 4F , 4M & 5F, 6M & 6F, 5M & 5F only.  If  starting the game with  5F and 4M, team must bat a female first.  If starting the game with 5M and 4F, a male must bat first.  In the 10th spot, there is an automatic out and the first male hitter must walk with one or two outs to first base.  The next female hitter must bat (no option)  Team may go to 8 players if injury or emergency happens during game. 

 

ASA certified or recertified bats may be used in league play.   Any other bats are legal to use in co-ed as long as they are not on the ASA banned list.   Visit the ASA Website for more info about recertified bats.  www.asasoftball.com

 

 Any player caught using an illegal bat will be called out immediately.  If caught a second time, player will be ejected from game.  A $25 ejection and forfeit fee must be paid at the Recreation Department before participating in the next contest.  Player ejected must sit the next game.

 

LWS is August 16, 17, 2008.  The drawing will be held on Wednesday 8/13 at Garfield Park, 7:00 PM.

If you're planning to play, a team representative must be present.  A refundable $50 cash deposit is required at drawing.   The Rec Dept will not draw for you.  Garfield - 387-4104; Kennedy - 387-5652
